 Duncombe Park point-to-point course, often known locally as the Helmsley Races, is a highly regarded amateur steeplechase track situated within the historic estate of Duncombe Park in North Yorkshire. The course is a right-handed, clockwise circuit laid out on a natural hillside, offering spectacular views of the surrounding parkland and the North York Moors. It is widely considered a fair but demanding test of stamina for both horse and rider, featuring a sharp bend that leads into a punishing 350-yard uphill run-in to the finish line. A standard three-mile race requires completing two full circuits of the track, during which the horses must negotiate a total of eighteen jumps. These obstacles include eight portable fences per lap, with two of those being challenging open ditches, alongside a notably long run between the eighth and ninth fences.

The venue primarily hosts the annual Sinnington Hunt point-to-point meeting, an event that traditionally takes place during the winter months of February. Because of its seasonal timing, the ground conditions can frequently become quite heavy and testing, adding to the rigorous nature of the competition. The meeting is celebrated for its classic country atmosphere, drawing large crowds who enjoy a mix of local bookmakers, trade stands, food stalls, and traditional picnics. Located just half a mile southwest of the market town of Helmsley off the A170, the course offers excellent natural vantage points for spectators on the hillside.
